Fried my computer, got new better one but now too laggy to play

Yep checked that and have put everything on maximum settings and high performance mode. When I put the game on the CPU and Memory go up to about 50% and the fan starts running. The only suggestion I havent tried yet is SSD since I dont have one. :/

yes the fan will run very fast as its on high performance mode, if you've just bought a new laptop the laptop will have a SSD so ignore these lot.

i don't think the network will play any part in this personally, because we used to play mir on Dial up........ even 3g mobile internet runs mir perfectly.

definitely something to do with your pc, more then likely have so many background services running which doesnt help either.

by all means, if your happy to do so, i could remote connect to your pc and adjust some settings for better performance if you fancy it. if your interested drop me a message on here as i dont play the server much.

Lots of brand new laptops today are still sold with HDD, not SSD, so not sure where you're getting that info from.

Also regards offering to remote access his computer, I'm sure you're a very good and trustworthy person, but I always strongly discourage people from allowing anyone else to do that unless they are known to them and personally trusted, any 'exceptions' are just setting bad security precedent. I don't think there's anything you could do to improve his lag that can't be done via simple instructions on the forum.
