After a few months of the game am suprised how flat the game is , must be like the calm Before the storm of the event maybe ? Think kicking off the event a little early might not be the worst idea to be fair
The problem with starting the event early is one of balance. If the drop rate during event is elevated, which it usually is, the market ends up flooded and it messes with the economy, making the event last longer will just exacerbate the issue. Mitigating that by slowing down the drop rate would just end up with people crying about the event being shit. There's no good solution, other than to ignore the serial moaners who will complain about everything anyway regardless of what gets done, and focus on providing high quality content for the people who enjoy the game for what it is, a 20 year old role playing game.
There are usually 3 main annual events here, Halloween, Christmas, and Easter, and 4 mini events (1 before each of the main events as a warm-up and 1 in summer). During these events the player count is definitely elevated, not just from old players who have quit who now only come back on for events, but also from current players who may spend longer playing each day than normal. There are quiet times for the server which aren't necessarily anything to do with the actual server/events, these seem to correspond with busy times of year for people outside of the game, for example summer when many people are dealing with kids who are off school or going on holiday, and december when things are really busy leading up to Christmas.
If you're finding the game a bit flat, then there's a few solutions. Perhaps this kind of game just isn't for you, but if you've stuck with it for a few months than that's likely not the case, you maybe just haven't found your niche yet. Everyone plays the game for different reasons and gets enjoyment from different aspects of it, that's the beauty of a game that's as open as this, you can really do what you want. I don't know who you are in game, but maybe try changing your guild, or make a character of a different class would mix things up a bit for you and you find yourself enjoying it again. Of course feel free to message me ingame any time, if I'm not afk (which I usually am, I often leave myself logged in when I go to work/sleep) then I will reply and I can help you out a bit.
