QOL improvement for rdd/bdp

Has it been explored to have entry back into cave allowed for one time only, to try combat if someone lags out mid hunt? Will only be able to enter during original 3 hours once per hunt.

As we know, mir is quite old and has various bugs in the game. For example we did bdp last night and two of us lagged out within minutes of each other. It wasnt my connection as my store char was still logged in fine on another window in background, so i presume it was something that occurred inside the cave itself that caused my screen to freeze.

Anyway i think a safety net to allow players to enter again and rejoin hunt atleast once, would be a good quality of life adjustment for the caves. Especially as if player who lags has the power orbs in bdp or keys in rdd, that means the rest of the group can't continue and it ruins the game for multiple people.

I strongly agree such an adjustment would be good, but it would need to be carefully balanced to prevent people from leaving to resupply with pots or whatever

Maybe just removing the automatic tele out, so if you log out / disconnect while in the cave then log back in you're still in the cave instead of being teleported to town

That would need some adjustments to ensure the countdown timer still works correctly, I think right now the way it's programmed it would pause when you're logged off which obviously isn't suitable

In theory it sounds nice, but in reality it would break the whole system.

If logging out keeps you inside BDP, players could just log all their chars out mid-run then bring them back in fresh later with full pots, CDs reset, maybe even with backup. That’s way too easy to abuse.

Right now the auto-teleport on logout is there for a reason to prevent exactly this kind of manipulation. Removing it would turn BDP into a parking lot for alt chars waiting to tag in whenever needed.

So yeah, cool idea on paper, but in practice it would just ruin the balance completely.

Stop using KFC net 🤣🤣😂

That's why I said the countdown system would need to be changed, so it continues to count down while you are logged off. If you log back on later after the countdown has reached 0 then you go back to town.

My idea was that you could be able to return to npc and gain entry to cave again within the 3 hour slot. Logging back into cave itself and not getting teled out is interesting idea i didnt think of. Maybe have your char get a "buff" upon entry that lasts for 3 hours, regardless if your logged in or not it counts down. At end of this buff your teled to town. That would make the logging back in on map idea work.

You know I suffered alot from my KFC net.
But I agree that's easily abused.

Although it's hard if someone DC mid run, people don't always have the time to rerun it.

That would break up the new system, people used to solo BDP and have it locked all day, it has been changed so you can't just afk in there.

Applying ur idea would get us back to old days I can log 3 accounts and just log them off while clearing and just log back on to enter doors.

Another thing that's annoying when we go a group of 3 and someone DC other 2 can't carry on as you need minimum of 3 players to go through doors.

System is not perfect IMO but it's good enough and 200 DS is not that hard to farm. Always another day and a chance to go back in.

@oldwolf goodluck on your next run.

Yeah the frustrating bit is finding the balance between that and not opening it up to abuse. With your suggestion you know there would definitely be people finding some sneaky way to turn that to their advantage
