PVE vs PVP has always been this games bonus for some and negative for others, it has cost countless players that is for sure on both sides. Personally, I was PVE all the way and quit because of PVP, but funnily enough PK NEVER bothered me, never got PK'd in 2 years of playing, never happened, never would have. PK is EASY to avoid - it was the pets thing with wizzies, and how detrimental to fun in the game it is, so so so many extra hurdles other classes don't consider.
Souls to get 5 hulks at noob level, like 250 to tame them safe? No other class has to do that. That's nearly a subscription - WEEK ON WEEK THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT NURTURE!!!
Lag out or server reboots during that week have to wait another to tame more, REBOOT the server, they're just dead gone if you was online (lol).
Someone steals them despite you being super aware because RT's happen and luck happens, another week for some more.
Get distracted by a real life event and come back to realise they're dead as they timed out and need wait a week for more, can't participate in any recall things safely btw.
This is early campaign, you level up some more arguably it gets worse, I'd argue a lot worse.
If I was a tao or warrior it wouldn't have bothered me any of the PVP - you have the option to RT and just instantly remove yourself from the situation with no consequences lol, go back if you really want! But you simply don't have that option as a wizzy, if you RT, say goodbye to half your pets on most cases, because they don't follow half the time which fucks your gameplay for an entire week, this is hulks we are talking about, claws could take months - goodbye fun. the lack of safe maps once hit heroes league destroyed my participation (and most other wizards) - given the choice would I have started a tao or warr? Yes, but I'm not willing to do another 2 years of levelling and paying money to get another chance (yes I know it is free, but be honest you need to spend to make any real progress, I would consider 2 years a lot), especially with all the other brilliant games around , but this game definitely has a draw and I wanted to keep it in my life - I just wanted to play PVE without fear at least on one map without fear, which was worthwhile drops and XP wise, none existed when I played. I always advocated for a safe map with similar levels of mobs as crypts so one could grind but it never happened. Not sure where the game has come now I'm behind the times. But a wizard with good pets couldn't even really safely have 'fun' doing a ZT run which was the biggest insult - literally going out of your way to help noobies for demon souls for lower level players - or just in general killing red/blue bile demons or savage stone terrors for lower level players - because the likelihood is/was that the pets YOU NEEDED TO KILL THESE BOSSES OR RUNS EFFICIENTLY would either time out if you leave them in town or get stolen on the run/kill.
I have always argued and will always argue that pets need an alternative, I appreciate ogres were introduced a welcome change to all wizards but it still takes up far too much time and has the same drawbacks, no other class needs to spend anywhere near as much demon souls that could be so more helpful, arguably they are harder to find then claws because they are camped to death.
Events should not exist in the current state they do, they just reward part timers. The game should be about the grind, but rules should be relaxed to reward the players who play more, not who play hard for 3 events a year, do surprise events, make something random up that happens every 12 days or something I don't know, just stop this shit RETAIN LOYAL PLAYERS, player count would be thousands today with certain changes that get brought up time and time again. I think most players would appreciate a smaller event 12 times a year that peeks interest consistently without breaking the game than one big blow out 3 times a year which definitely breaks the game.
If it's GG you are concerned about sell entry tickets to private caves for 20gg maybe a blue hulk for 20GG and a red hulk for 50GG fuck I dunno even sell a Taos pet for 5gg every time it spawns, why should they have no consequences for powerful pets being lost like wizards do??? - I'm not qualified enough to comment on a warriors fair share of GG or whatever but you have to see my point, if you are not well connected in this game, a wizard is a bloody tough deal.
Better yet I think you should set a stable up as many others have mentioned before, where wizards pets don't become a big deal, and just stop the horrific bias that exists in this game so all wizards can come back and spend money and have some fucking fun. WE ALL WANT TO COME BACK AND PLAY WE MISS THIS GAME BUT WE CAN'T DEAL WITH IT AS THINGS STAND.
Evidently - I am venting, but I truly want to come back to this game, I just can't do it as things are, and I really wish it was different. People may agree or disagree with me - but from my perspective, not possible for a wizard to return as things are, it just isn't fun and games are supposed to be fun. I'm not talking PVP/PVE/ get killed in a PVP situation where you've hung about and lost kit - your fault. I'm taking a class which is unplayable for fun, because of pets and players fed up of people turning up 3 times a year and finding better kit than them grinding 12 months. I imagine the user count would be a lot higher by the way if even half of the things people have mentioned over the years happened, but then again I might be completely wrong - either way.
