I used to play Mir many, many years ago, thought I would give it a try again, but whenever I have created a new account, the new character lags out every time.

What am I doing wrong??

Hi and welcome ,
Check that your firewall allows Mir through, it could be after initial login the firewall then receives data packets that it thinks suspect and closes the connection
