Mir2 Classic - levelling too fast toward endgame content

Well what a nostalgia hit, for sure, not played since back in the day. however I have a question -

In 2 days I managed to level my character (Tao) to level 80odd - and I accepted help by mistake which levelled my Tao up to 120+ (not sure) - Now I know you're all probably in it for the endgame and that's fine, however

My question is, is there any server that is closer to how Mir2 was back in the day (maybe not taking 2 years to get to level 50) but a bit more of a challenge and slower levelling? I did enjoy seeing Wooma temple again, and killing a wooma guardian (something it used to take me and 4 friend HOURS to accomplish)

Or are those days over now? I feel like I have spoilt the nostalgia for myself by tearing though the game too fast - Does that make sense?

This is a high rate server with low rate drops :)

If you continued to play you would find that level isn't really the limiting factor, it is how 'lucky' you are to find the items you need or how deep your pockets to buy them.

I have always enjoyed that feeling of 'if I just get to the next level I can use such and such an item' rather than 'I did 0.001% experience today'.

To be fair, you have played the game as intended. Scorp wants you to tear through the earlier level content. Don't worry, it all slows down somewhat.

I personally feel our GM has it spot on with the speed of levelling side, if not necessarily the drops of items side. There are also upgrade quests to do that would challenge the patience of a Saint if you fancy a challenge.

I wouldn't insult Scorp by giving a 'shout out' for another server...

Thanks for the reply Dote, Yeah I appreciate that! I just wondered if a "classic mode" like in WoW for instance would be possible

The levels you have flown through have not always been that way, but the process has been sped up to be new player friendly, once you hit 160/180 you will start to meet the grind and trust me you have a long way to go from there even still.

And if we look at how WoW classic went, it isn’t a very smart idea to copy it. People got bored very quick due to out dated mechanics, others flew through content with the benefit of experience, the rest got burnt out from the grind in the 40’s. Waste of time for anybody to even touch that idea, nostalgia is a real thing.

Those days are long gone unfortunately, there are currently no active good usercount low rates... :/

Most of the nostalgia caves have higher level versions that you can enjoy as you work your way up

I always discourage people from 'helping' by just boosting people's levels, it really doesn't help at all and in fact makes it harder, because now you'll be stuck at level 120 with lower level kit and be unable to kill level 120 mobs. Once you take help once you're stuck in a cycle of needing it. If you go at your own pace your kit and levels will go up together and it can be a lot of fun

Dude it took me like 3 hours to do heroes quest in project 69 years back, I almost died multiple times in the KR haha them golems are just built different!

Did it on arcadia a few days ago on an alt, got it done within 30mins, I was utterly shocked lol. Seems things have changed

I'm the same and thought the same. Played original 20 years ago and put a good few years into the game had so much fun, went to mir stock to meet our fellow gamers.

Now I rip through 100 levels in no time, but it's been fun, it's slowing down a bit now. I love this game haha

Well done all involved in keeping this gem of a game alive 👏 there is nothing quite like it in my opinion.

If you tear through the lower levels which is something I did simply by completing the farmer quests in Bichon you will probably need to buy some game gold to allow you to purchase some better armour. Remember you will outgrow this armour quickly too so don't go mad buying the best on offer, but having better gear is a must as you progress just to enable you hunt in the areas which are suitable to your level.

Yeah I've noticed that because I need loads of skill books haha.

Gear is not too bad since I hit the Xmas event so OK kit wise.

Can you find casewrap for books or only buy for 10m gold?

I'm thinking of buying some game gold to get the subscription to be honest, it was always sub based when I played originally was about £4 a month 20 years ago.

Wasn't sure if I'd get into it like I used to, but I'm hooked again, just need to find a guild.

I don't have as much game time as I did in my late teens early 20's though with having a full time job and family but really enjoying it.

Thanks for your advice and everyone else been so helpful.

Even in game I haven't been PK'd yet! Haha
