Here we are gonna discuss hero’s league and drop potions vs server wide event buffs.
Is it a scam?
Is it a placibo?

I have for the second time 100% hero league buffs.
I have treasurer stone aswell which means when I have a drop pot active I get 320% magic find and 240% drop rate.

I cannot remember the last time I got a 7/8 star item drop from mobs.

Last week there was a double drop event. I killed bosses on a char not in hero’s league but the server was on double drops and got a shit load of items drop.

Back into my char This week and no double drop event but I have 100% hero league buff effectively giving me the same drop bonus as when the server is on double drops for a normal player.

I don’t feel like it’s working. If anything it feels like it’s -100%

Does anyone else have this concern?
 
I remember Scorp saying something about drops being geared towards being more likely to find things that are suited to your level/class. I guess it's possible that the algorithm that tinkers with that could be scaling badly and giving those at the top less drops.

I do agree that "double drops" seems to be waaaay more than double, and the hero league buffs don't feel like they are having the same effect.

I'll try and figure out some way of testing it that might give us some better insight.

There's a bunch of stuff I can kill on my warrior solo that I can try and record drops for, then do the same bosses on my wiz and compare.
 
The events multiply against your personal buffs (hence why XP gets mega from a low multiplier). You can't just see double drops as +100% or 1.5X exp as +50% like the personal buffs work:

- If you have 300% XP rate and there's a 1.5 event then you end up effectively with 450%
- Same for drops, so if (on the noob) you were using a 30% drop pot + subscription 20% then that 150% would be 300%

Basically the events make the buffs/potions much more effective

As for what you were killing on your other character, that probably has higher drops anyway like lower level monsters do where players spend less time in these regions

High killchain only affects drops from monsters - not bosses


Otherwise I don't think there is much else that will affect you personally. The drop enhancements Zade mentioned do not go that high a level, although we are considering if they should do now. It had only been experimental so far but for example a Warrior would get 3x drop rate on warrior weapons so you would be more likely to get something useful
 
Query.

I have been playing warrior the past few months as I feel wizz have been left behind massively at endgame by the other two classes, but I killed roughly 40 noob lokis had 6 mediation skills before I got battlecharge 2 days ago (the skill I need) this doesn't look like this boss is aimed at dropping the skill that is needed for the character as you have stated.

In comparison several months ago on my wizz I killed the noob loki maybe 6 times on my wiz (before I started warrior) and had battlecharge drop twice.

Horrendous luck or perhaps this algorithm needs looked at?

I taught I was the only one, I have notice this pattern too.
