Hello, need some help please :)

Hi I've started this game and found it's vastly different to what it was over 20 years ago (Dragon player)

So I have questions, obviously after checking available guides!

My first: is it possible to join a guild so I can ask these questions without spamming the forum?

Second: I'm making my way through the farmer quests and I've reached the one where you kill bosses. I've run through to 3F on ZT 7th and I'm standing at the map doorway trying to get through but I don't see a door to get into ZT. What am I doing wrong? I've tried hugging the wall there and no luck.

Thanks!

Marie

Welcome to the best server!

Would love to take you in but we are full at the moment. There are a few newbie-friendly guilds, if you ask around in BW I'm sure someone will be happy to have you!

The guide in the link in the post above this one is great for low level (below 100) items etc., and has a lot of great detailed information about the farmer quests. Beware some of the information about books is out of date. For latest info about where to find books, look at the game guide notice board which can be found in the middle of most towns.

For further information on higher level stuff (above 100) you'll find all you need on my guide site, link in my sig

Also worth reading up about arcamon, there's good information about it in Warda's sticky thread

Most questions you'll find have already been asked on the forum, so have a quick search. If you can't find what you need, just make a thread, we don't bite :) Plus if you have a question then chances are someone else is wondering the same thing, so it's always useful to have stuff like that answered on the forum!

Hello and thanks for the help guys

I've given up on that quest for now.

Does the ronin ghoul drop the secret ingredient? I've killed so many...

I'm playing my warrior, and I'd like to know how to increase my health regeneration. I have about 4k health now, and I'm using 3k pots, but it ticks off at 34 while I'm being hit for 200ish by a single creature level 85ish (I'm 100) and if there's two on me it's a struggle, three and I'm in trouble. I just don't regen fast enough.

I'm using a red spider frog arcamon. I've tried the pumpkin head one and a couple of others. Why are they SO slow? Can I speed them up? They do great damage but they are hardly anywhere near me.

I'm struggling to work out where is best to level. As a warrior I like high density, low damage monsters such as ant cave, but I've levelled over that area now. I've moved on to places like prajna temple and stone temple, and they seem awkward like there's not enough to kill for the exp they give, or they are harder to kill, take longer and hurt me more because of the regen issue. What do other people do?

Last time I tried was over a year ago, but I remember the drop rate being approx 1/100

There are a few items that aid your HP regen, such as recovery helmet, and certain stones. There are also armours but they are much higher level. And if you really want you can buy a premium torch for 5gg that gives you +200% hp regen for 3 hours. The actual base regen speed is a function of your total HP, so as you level up you'll get more max HP and your regen will naturally improve.

Some pets hit hard, some hit fast, some run fast, some have special skills. But unless you're spending money you won't get one that does everything. Make a few different ones and tailor their stats by feeding them different foods so you have a suitable one to use for any situation. Your spider frog will eventually evolve to a khazard which is slow and doesn't hit too hard, but can paralyse which is really useful for bosses. For levelling, you might be better with a pet that does poison.

There are a few resources for finding good places to hunt. Easiest is to press H and click 'quick hunt', it will suggest 3 places based on your level. You can also get a lot of good information, much more specific and detailed, on the notice boards. You can find the notice boards in most towns. Also there is a list of all caves on my guide site if you just want to see a full list, it only tells you the level of the mobs in the cave, but no other details.

Oh you are fantastic thank you very much this is very helpful. Basically I will have to pay for the QoL which is very fair and something I was going to do anyway as long as I had some enjoyment. I already use the hunting board for tips so it seems I'm going to just have to find whatever works for me. Lots of rts to the deeper floors in ant caves then!

There was a SecretIngredient on the floor in town I spotted just after I wrote that reply above, I picked it up and stored it for you, pm me ingame and I'll pass you it

Oh really?! I would very much appreciate that. I've started other characters so I can get a taste for the one I like best (was always tao before as I soloed a lot) but I would like to complete the quest chains on my warrior just to say I've done it!

So, the pet classes... is it intentional for pets to be really slow? My shinsu and skele (level 2 and 3 respectively) dawdle along which makes progression slow. I'm wondering about other tao playstyles based around this factor... I know that taos are much happier with low density, high health/dmg/exp mobs and I'm no exception, picking them off one by one with a sfb to the head to pull more, but now and then I will want to go through high density areas for one reason or another and my pets just lag behind constantly. I remember them being much faster runners on Dragon. I know this ISN'T dragon, but wondering about the reason for this lack of QoL on an otherwise much better game.

Cycling through all the pet attack modes is hugely annoying when I only use rest and attack, is it possible to make my own keybind to toggle these two on and off?

On my wizard (roughly 60) if I tame pets in one area and continue to hunt there, they die fast. I'm well aware in the 'old days' you would risk life and limb to get at least three spiderfrogs to take elsewhere, so what is the equivalent perfect pet to take to somewhere like BDD or PT?

Thanks again!

I'd say get 1 class to 120/130 then you get a real view of each class and what they have to offer. Around the level 60-110 Is probably the most boring and slow. After this is when you start getting spells to help speed things up.

Level 0-110 is not a true representation of the game and the pace of the game. Most of the best features you won't really encounter until you get a bit further into the game.

Wiz pets pretty useless unless you tame the ones with blue rings under them.

I don't know man, once u get toxic gas u want high density for that poison spam, just train a pack of mobs behind u casting gas on them every couple seconds, find there's never enough mobs to keep a good train going

yes I had a look through some of the tao skills and saw the new explosive sfb and poison cloud skills and thought about how that would be cool in high density areas.
