Buying SoulCrystals (all sizes)

Anyone willing to sell at sensible prices send me a private message here or in-game

Sick of shouting in town and getting endless PMs from:

  • People who don't have any to sell and just want to know how much I'm paying for whatever reason
  • Greedy dreamers who ask for higher prices than the ones sitting in AH, if I was paying that high why wouldn't I just buy from AH?
  • People who see crystals in AH that have been sitting there for 3 weeks, and want the same price because "that's what they are worth". Again, if anyone was willing to pay those prices, they'd buy from AH
  • People who want to have a 10 minute conversation before revealing they have a single xs for sale that might be on a store char if they can find it

I'm here to buy, not to get scammed, and not to hear your life story

If you're selling and you aren't described above, then message me with how many you have and your sensible price for all of them, and we do the deal and move on

Had been using them at trade value of like 400gg to 450gg for xls during the event.

But if you're talking about the same 4/5 people that vacuum up all the crystals and runes and keep relisting them at ridiculous prices to never sell them?

Yea its a problem. Been that way for at least since I've been playing.

Solution is up the drop rate so market manipulators fall flat on their ass.

I completely understand your frustration with the trading situation. It must be annoying to deal with all those unproductive inquiries and unrealistic price expectations. I've sometimes asked about prices myself, not to be a 'greedy dreamer' but just to get a sense of the current market value to avoid scams. It seems like a lot of us are in the dark about realistic pricing. Could you share what you think are reasonable price ranges for these items? It might help everyone get a clearer picture and make your trading experience smoother.

Soul crystal xls were roughly 200gg before Ely update. They have since doubled in price.

Bravery crystals went up about 80gg since Ely and magic crystals have tanked since Ely update. I can speculate as to why magic crystals tanked but it will fall on deaf ears again.

I pretty much predicted prices would go up, as it's basic economics of supply demand, and demand was bound to skyrocket with the introduction of 1.5% and +15s, pricing any sort of rune or crystal way out of reach of any new players.

Then you factor in the market manipulators soaking up all the crystals/runes, combining, and price fixing them. That's how you get 450gg soul crystals and it's what happened with health runes, etc...

Those prices stay at that level until such time they NEED gg and they'll lower them a little to make it look like a deal.

I've said this all before and it appears I've said it again much to my chagrin.

I vary what I offer quite a bit based on a number of things, including a "hassle tax" if someone is slow and annoying to deal with I offer a bit less, and if someone has only a few xs or s then I offer a bit less, and it goes the other way too, if someone I have dealt with before and was a smooth fast transaction or they have a lot of runes to sell in one go, then call it a "convenience tax" and I'll offer higher rates. But before these modifiers, I typically aim for around 300gg per XL, and divide or multiply from there, then apply the above taxes/discounts. That's why I can't just "shout my prices" in town

So far since the elysian update I've obtained over 40 XL at those rates, yet I still get people trying to sell to me for 3x that (seriously) and getting rude and abrasive when I don't want to spend time negotiating over a single XS, it's frustrating

I need about another 15 or so XL, then my kit will be complete for a while, hoping to have that done before easter event

PM me your prices.

I got in store:
2 x (XS) +2 SC
1 x (S) + 4 SC
1 x (L) + 8 SC

Happy to sell all in one transaction

This is the sort of frustrating horseshit time wasting I'm talking about

Happens literally every time I shout in town, what is wrong with people

Absolute clowns

There can be several reasons for this.

A.)They see the prices in ah and are doing bad math working backwards from 450gg. Prices are this high because of market manipulators who soak up all the runes/crystals.

B.)The people you're trying to buy off of are people that just don't like you. It is a very small community. Try buying on a toon who's name isn't known.

There's a reason most high ticket items in the AH are listed under the names of mules.

The crystals that sit in ah for weeks are 500+
I don’t think it’s greedy for people to want 400-450, cos others pay that

around event , when they were plentiful, people will sell for less of course.

will be interesting to see how market reacts to recent events (grits kit now looks maxed and some other Taos have slowed down their purchases)

Tried that, then when back on main I got "well prices are high cos several people been shouting, so it's high demand" but all the names they listed were me lol

Honestly though, I've been buying enough to satisfy my needs, and at prices I'm happy with

This post was more about highlighting my frustration at the large amount of time wasters

The market is community controlled so the only way to prevent people dictating prices is to just boycott them altogether. You can play the game without runes and just let people reduce prices, but whilst there is somebody buying at those prices then they will stay at those prices.

The problem is new players who don't know this join the game and ultimately price theirs competitively to those that are manipulating the market.

I think the fix that the gm has yet to implement of adding items can't be removed for 10 days will help with this but it would only help if rune/crystal drops were more steady.

I I've been playing for just over 2 years now and I'm still yet to learn the value of items. I try and guage a price on the AH, but have learnt that these prices are inflated. I usually take advice from the person who wants to buy the item from me. Which is what we done when you bought from me.
I'd much rather do business at reasonable prices and do business more often, than sit on items trying to squeeze that little extra out of the item or possibly not sell it at all taking up storage space.

Things are only worth what somebody is willing to pay

This is very true.

I keep an eye on the AH and I have managed to grab a few cheap S and M soul runes over the last week which do get put on the market at a reasonable or perhaps a fraction over what I consider to be reasonable.

I have a collection of runes from the last 2 events that I am holding on to which I will use when my level dictates. My wife (IRL) plays a wizzy and I play as a (crap) TAO so we swap runes from the events which boosts the number of soul runes that I can collect during events which is a massive bonus. Guys (and gals), get your significant other to play and make sure they play a different class and take advantage of the power of 2. It also allows you to play the game without being nagged (too much).

At the end of the day if we don't pay the inflated prices then the market will sort itself out. I do think that the fact that the tao is the most popular class also plays a big part (unfortunately)

Unfortunately the auction house is very inflated, and leads to new players not acknowledging the values of items and runes.
Last year on Skull Island a player sold an SA 1% rune to trader! Perhaps it would be very helpful if someone could make a guide, a simple value list, to help new players
