The last 3 i have found of these, what a monotonous chore that is to start with, upon double clicking them, they have gave me nothing at all. Is this correct?

Are you at max demon souls? If it tries to give you demon souls but you're at max then you'll get nothing. Same happens with helping hero rewards.

Same for me I've started collecting mythic essence on a second char because I'm maxed and don't currently have anything I want to socket.

Some people have a ridiculous amount of mythic essence. Kinda run out of things to use it on lol
