Hey everyone - I was not going to post about this and have mulled it over for a few days, but tbh I am genuinely a bit miffed at this.

The other day I was selling potion items to the Arcadia peddler. Now, the way I have my bad organised I always have my archamon in the top left box of my bag and it is always surrounded by RT's. I had a quick sell in operation and never went remotely close to my pet (a lvl 129 ET) yet the system decided "I am having that" and it just vanished out of my bag. I have played this over and over in my head but the way my bag is set up and where the items I was selling in my bag the cursor never came close to my ET, at least on my screen anyway (what the server saw or did may be different to what I saw).

Even more frustrating there is no way to recover the item (other servers do) and the storekeeper did not have the item in its list to sell back to me, the system just nuked it from existence. Shouldnt the shops at least have a way to sell the bought items like that back to us? I would have happily bought it back for double what the system gave me when it took it (which was only like 16 k :( )

I am genuinely a bit annoyed about this. I put a fair bit of time into that little insect and it was the best pet I had (I know there are probably better like the Khazard, but this thing was a wrecking machine).

I am mentioning this in case it is something the Gm needs to look at as if it happened to me it has no doubt happened to others.

It's the sort of thing that happens to everyone once, but only once, happened to me once too (sold a rare arcamon that could only be found in event, had to wait a year to replace it). Once you've experienced that, you get to be massively anxious and careful, I have and it's never happened again. I thought it was a bug at the time too but I've since convinced myself that I just made a mistake in a hurry. I can sort you out with another ET tonight, I'll be ingame in a couple of hours

Thats the thing though, I never came close to clicking it. Thats the only reason I am mentioning this. I was already anxious about doing that.

I am never using that shitty pedler in Arcadia ever again. The guy is a thriving dickhead. I am sticking to my man in BW.

At first i was like bahh silly mistake.. get a new pet and get over it but then it occured to me that i have more then few pets where I have spent 5k+ gg each just on their food.. if the same thing happened to me.. I be furious as you lol.. definitely needs sorting out this.

It's not impossible that there was a glitch but the odds would be up there. When you sell an item, the client actually sends the item's unique identification to the server to verify the sale (it also sends the item name too and checks them both)

The shop will hold the item in stock but it is probably beyond the visible stock pile. Unless there has been a reboot since it happened it is likely still there but you would need to clear the stock of what other people have sold

Is there anyway you can increase the stockpile size of npc? There’s often many many items in there people need and can’t see. Would be a awesome update if we could see everything a npc has been sold all the time.

Ya npc stock need to make bigger

I heard a while back people talk about selling an item to one npc and another one in another town getting the item and making it available for sale. Is that a real thing or just a theory?

Thanks for the answer. I have checked and checked. It doesn't even list pets let alone any other pets.

If you go to diff town and check the npc he will have your sold pet. I’ve done it before and I got it back immediately from diff town.

I am interested in these theories about items moving between merchants - it certainly is not intended and could indicate a memory leak if in fact true.

Items that are "dura 0" (which is technically what "lives" are on Arcamon) are not allowed for resale on merchants. I will check if this can be removed as it was possibly only suitable when dura 0 items automatically got destroyed. Some kind of legacy code which was intended to prevent bugs

This exact thing happened to me the other day. I accidentally sold a rare ring to a shop and could not see it to buy back (it WAS my fault this time, hence no complaint haha) I forget where I sold it but I know it wasn't BW. I managed to buy it back in the BW shop a few hours later.

I did the thing where you buy items from the original shop to free up a space for the item I had sold, but it did nothing. I couldn't believe it popped up in the BW shop, or that no one else had bought it.

I will try and remember and do some experimentation with this tomorrow.

Items are definatly don#t always end up in same npc they been sold too. It's been like that since euro.. Must be something in that poorly written script. I recall someone sellig there dss on euro instead of repairing and it ended up at a different npc.
