With the removal of bound items. Will there be a tool to remove runes from these items? I'd heard one was in the game shop. But was removed.
Removing bound items, I see the logic. It's needed for the server to continue. However many people invested heavily in them items purely because you had very little risk of losing them.
Removing them would encourage a return for me in particular.
Obviously removal of runes would certainly be a touchy subject for many people, killing the market shouts, people would never need to buy them and so on. Which is purely untrue. For many years we had some very generous events which flooded the market with runes. It would take 6 months for the market to increase. However was this a bad thing? Most events now you are lucky to gain a few top runes. For years I'd get items ready for the next event then socket everything and buy all the runes I could.
Let's look at the game from what we enjoy doing. Personally for me it's the upgrade system and adding runes. Making kits, multiple kits. The more runes that are available just means more people do the same. Build more kits. Granted the prices will drop for runes. But why is that a bad thing? People's primary concern is that low level items won't be available?
Okay, very valid point.
However, look at the other side. Runes will be available at a reasonable price for those newer players to have the same fun as the rest of us making there own kits. Higher level players won't need to keep stockpiling runes ready for new kit.
Lowering the price on opening sockets on low level items to make it more affordable for new players to build kit is an easy solution, they will have the runes and the gold capital to enjoy the game like the rest of us.
Higher levels may recycle old items but that wouldn't last too long. People losing items and building new kit will always keep a market for runes.
Said this many times over the years, the best feature on Arcadia is the kit building side. It's just a shame it's so expensive to do so. A decent ess/des alone can set you back 1k GG. With no guarantees on results when you do 5 upgrades you can quickly lose 3-5k GG. Then say you need 5 hp runes at 500 each another 2.5k, before we have even gone into the cost of time for gold orbs and mythic.
I think a lot of people are against rune removal for the wrong reasons.
