Returning Player - Better to start or work out where to resume?

Hey guys! I used to play a bit, and got to around level 70 on my wizard, taoist and warrior but it was a significant amount of time ago when I last played and I haven't a clue where to start up again.

Has there been a lot of changes? Would I be better of starting again if things have changed. How populated is the Arcadia servers - is there a community of players still playing?

There is a hardcore members about 40 users. Its fun, but yes start off with emily in border town. Its hit or win to get someone to speak to you. Think a lot are Chinese

A lot of people will tell you to join a guild straight away and get them to level you and boost you and give you kit. That's a valid way to do it if that's what you want, but in my experience, players who do that tend to quit as soon as they have to do anything themselves, as they have no idea where anything is or what to do and get frustrated.

I'd reccomend getting to know the game a bit and explore the lower level content, there's masses of guides and walkthroughs that will help you keep momentum up. Press Q to see available quests, follow Emily quests, they are self explanatory and will probably take you a couple of evenings to do. Then when those are complete there is the Farmer in BW, look for walk thoughs for those quests if you're struggling.

Those quests will be better exp than anything you get from levelling normally until around level 70 or 80. Once that slows down, press H to see 3 suggestions for level-appropriate areas to hunt in. Bear in mind you'll need kit for your level to kill stuff there, so again, follow the guides online to see lists of what kit you can wear as there's a lot of names that can be confusing.

Gold is very easy to make, just pick up everything that drops as you go and sell it all to shops. Keep an eye on what sells for most, so you'll get the hang of what things it's best to leave so you aren't going back to town to sell your loot every 5 minutes.

If you have any specific questions around that sort of thing I'm happy to answer in pm, the open forum can be a bit slow to have a conversation due to the post approval process

Most of all, have fun! Do things your way 😎

Yea I logged through my other 3 chars and each has about 2mil gold with a few items in their storages - I haven't played in years (made this account in 2014...) and when I hit a monster I leveld from 62 to 82 on my wizard.

I have started a new one just to work out what I'm doing but seem to be left with a quest for a Dying Guard at Forgotten Province and I have no idea where that is. :O

Forgotten Province is Gi Ryoong

And yeah, the exp tables have been adjusted a couple of times so returning players do get a very fast jump as a result 😎
