Missing Regulars

Since the event a number of regulars seem to be missing with a number selling kit and moving on, what's happening on the server?

I know a number of people aren't happy with recent changes or played heavy in the last event but with a number of heavy "donators" receiving recorded letters about the progression of the server I'm interested to see what peoples opinions are about the lifespan of the server and what's going on.

I've bought what I thought was a reasonable amount of GG over the last year but obviously don't want to invest any more to a server which is decreasing in popularity and moving towards a solo player server rather than what I felt was a reasonably active server with good group hunts and a decent group of people in general.

Wars as much as I used ot hate them were nightly, guild hunts frequent andhad to keep an eye out for those known to PK, I can't remember seeing the last war, falling across another's guild hunts and only a limited number of PK'ers online depending on who is on the char...

Are we seeing the start of a decline or just a seasonal lull?

Server is actually quite lively at the lower levels, I've recently played on lower level chars (levelled some new chars in the last few weeks, just to see how things are for new people now, so I'm able to advise better) and actually found most places I go I'm bumping into people, it's all very friendly, with several new guilds popping up too, which is great for the server.

It's only at the top that you see people quitting, and it follows the same pattern of impatient people paying their way to the top then getting bored when nobody is interested in competing them in a race to see who has the biggest credit card.

My take on it is that things are actually going really well, and the recent events and improvements to the lower and middle games are really helpful and encouraging to new players who actually just want to play for a bit of fun.

As someone who took 6 months out until recently the server seems a bit quiet post-halloween but I guess that's to be expected with more people returning to work etc. I tend to play more during the day and don't see as many people around as Zade does but I think that Scorp is doing a decent job in adding new content and listening to players' ideas without going overboard. Christmas will be the next busy time I guess. I would like to see the occasional 'flash' event eg a surprise weekend or midweek event that lasts for 48 hours with the chance of a few goodies but more importantly to mix it up a bit and keep the fun levels up.

The server was a little bit quieter after the event, but the last few days have regularly had over 100 players active at a time.

People put a lot of time into the event and are now in the burnout phase from the week of intense play. It will pass.

Exactly. It does 'seem' quiet but that's just because we've become used to seeing it a lot busier. Fact is it's busier and more active today than it was before lockdown

If anything I think the server was more in trouble about 6 months ago, recent updates have given a fresh lease of life to top end content and I believe we are getting a 185 gp cave soon too!

As always when this topic comes up I’ll Chuck and extra 2 cents at it, bring back more euro caves :)

I think next top cave should be re work of euro foxes, Uber hard, only way to survive is build a holy def kit build!!!
Then just like we had bc, WT next please :) not sure if it’s possible but could you hijack some of the kill count stuff used on rota for some quests on here?

Reworking of old school caves would indeed be a nice touch , but its all the same rinse and repeat scenerio. I personally think it would be better to go for a 3 heroesi approach ..... ie need 1 of each class to kill new bosses etc . That way you must work as 1 team to progress . Each class must debuff the boss during the fight to stop it enraging or regening etc .
Solo bosses at 188 is fine but the future needs to be more class interaction in new caves ......
Server World Bosses is something that would be fun each guild helping to take down a boss over a few days , the loot cache can drop into guild leaders bag or on death the Guildleader can take it from a NPC.
All guilds no matter what size could participate ....

I like your thinking!

I guess the reworking of old caves is just a bit easier for gm team and supplements new and exciting stuff that comes out.

That sounds like an awesome idea...

Euro Foxes but OP hard would be awesome I loved that place.

I consider myself a regular - I don't play as much now I do get bored too easily.

Rushed mythic debacle regarding bug exploit - pissed of many players (bug or not bug - idk)

HPR / MPR - removal not really fussed - but imagine you paid a lot of GG for them back in the day you would feel abit cheated maybe?

I remember last Xmas I got an azure tiger on the last day - I fed it GG food and at lvl 150 it was doing 10 sec freeze - a thread was made about it as people were moaning and it got nerfed reboots later. Again luckily I earned GG in game and did not buy it from my own cash but imagine you did you would be pissed?

Are you going to nerf yim pet poison if ppl moan about it? because if I do play the game further ill probably mess around on my warrior and build a GG yim.

When to RDD on x 2 drops other week, I like RDD its a bit of a challenge when your only tao - but drops were really bad. Not worth the time put in to kill the 4 red dragons IMO. The person finishing the RD and main bosses was 186 and full buffed on drops.

Just my 2 cents

Just cause every craft you get holy resistance he he he

Reworking old caves is great but does effect some of the quests for new people and lower levels, so going forward a complete new province for 180 people and caves with mobs 186+, still leaves plenty for everyone else ingame and make the top end players happier, especially having certain caves a lil more bias per classes and some for groups, no rt’s teles so have to graft your way through with team work, bit like BDP, be interesting to have all sorts of mobs attack class to really work people kit wise, although some will complain as it’s to hard in there full dc kit or PDR doesn’t work aswell there

Hi, I'm a new player, albeit one who played the original euro mir so knew what to expect.

I came back because I saw an advert for the game somewhere I can't remember where probably facebook or whatever. I also got a friend interested for a short while. He quit because it wasn't a busy server and was too old for him. This game will never pull the masses because of its age.

My take on the game thus far is this:

Farmer's quests are fine as long as the gaps are filled in on online guides. They add variety, even though they are outdated
Daily bounty quests need a tweak. Not everyone can reach annihilator status. Consider adding a mob count instead?
Increase the member limit in guilds. It's silly to have numerous guilds of a few players each. The guild I'm in is all but dead, but the active guilds are full.
Add time limited high level arcamon to the game shop
Restore the move/attack speed of wizard pets to how they used to be. Right now they are just a drag. Same with tao pets. What was the reasoning behind the reduction in the first place?

Allow the trade of quest items, or at least some of them.

Make the heroes quest soloable.

doubt its got anything to do with resent changes.. there are other things in life they need to focus on rather then mir.. so their focus is somewhere else.. they will eventually come back.. if not somebody will replace them.. no big lose

Multiple reasons.

Great mmos available to play.:
I stopped to play new world and lost ark. Much more to do to keep engagement ingame.

Trajectory of server:
Many players ive talked to just don't feel connected anymore. With the introduction of gg caves over the last year we've all separated more and more. Relevant enjoyable content is another part. Currently the server is catered to PvE nerds. There's no shortage of that anywhere. So why run back?

Scorp has made it blatantly obvious he's losing gg ingame and that's why gg caves exist during event. People came here for something different and it's just more of the same. Mix that with artificial grinds (item upgrades)

Drops: honestly I get the want for rate being reasonable. I'm still using a brace from over a year ago because there's nothing else better available, unless I roll it which only happens during events.

Last part -Player input.
It doesn't really ever get listened to. Take a look at the last set of skill upgrades. Enjoy the skills no one really wanted. Also remember taos are now aids and untouchable.

Also FYI the instanced zones and private caves were the main reason chronicles died.

Daily average usercount is pretty much at the same level as 2014 - not much difference +- 10% since then this time of year. Only exception was last year when there was a lockdown.

That's stats for you!

Personally I am not concerned, people come and people go I just hope they have fun while being here

We get it, your not hurting for money. Your fine with no growth over 12 years. Bad business model but not all of us can be innovative and chase growth. Nor can we make 70k+ a year not even logging on our own server.

Then again you sent letters to the big donates recently thanking them for supporting you even though you don't support them.

If you listened to some of the people that really have cared and didn't take everything so personally your income would be 3-4x what it is. You could do less work and make more money. Weird.

I just find it hysterical the amount of people telling the owner of the longest running servers how to run a server... Boggles the mind lol
