It's only a drop in the ocean to some. I was apart of euro mir sword drop 3.2b gold seemed insane but it was just walking around money for him.
$14,400 value at time as gold chests were $45-50 each.

This server is small fry for spending. I know games that para ring sells for £5000 I know games where people have spent £20k a month every month for years. This really is small fry.

Unfortunatly the whole gaming business has shifted into "squeeze every cent out of your customers" style last few years.
Before coming back to Mir i was playing this game where 1 player paid 15k euros for 1 overpowered item in game.
One business magnate in my alliance casually spends 10k+ euros a month for him and his teammates.

It sucks for us the little guys, but if you owned a business yourself.
Why would you sell the same product to everyone for 10$, when you can sell it for 1000$ to a guy who can afford it.
All you need to do is the wrap the product and call it the "Collector's edition".

I guess it is really determined by the market.
In the 2000's the majority of the gamers were teenagers livin with their parents.
Now they are all adult with jobs who spends much more on their hobbies. Especially if they became sucessful.
