Things dont get answered when its a bug or a issue , they post in wrong section or with no Prefix ........
I having being a systems administrator years and contributor to many technical forums etc it bugs me when people dont use the right format to bring attention to and issue or bug etc ,
This forum is really well designed , If I was a GM each day I would go straight to the Suggestions and Bugs and look at the Bug Reports..........
not shift through masses of posts on Arcadia Chat .
If its urgent try using ....
  • Forums
  • Conversations
  • Start new conversation
  • Search under Recipients Scorpian
  • Post a message with a clear outline of issue and be POLITE,,,,,,,
I am sure this go a long way to getting things resolved in a more timely manner,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
this just general observation not aimed at any individual
Peace and Kebabs......

Does the GM respond to pms on forums nowadays?

p.s: Scorpian if you're reading this plz check pms it's important and is quite urgent, it's regarding to gg purchases I've been waiting two weeks, thanks!

Rather than a pm to GM, it makes more sense to post on the 'ask an admin' board. Any posts on that board are only visible to the poster and admins/mods.

This means that both Scorp and Warda have the same visibility of it, you have better controls over layout and screenshots/attachments than you do in pms. And you can see by watching the view count whether it's been read or not.

I've contacted GM in pretty much every way possible over the years, and that board is where I usually get the fastest and best responses

It seems GM is very busy these days, he has changed a lot of stuff on the other server project69 and there's a massive content update which he's currently working on. I'm really grateful for the update honestly was a bit of a surprise for me as I didn't see it coming because it's a dead server you wouldn't expect him to update it.

But hopefully he can log on forums sometime soon and see our pms or ask admin threads.

I think the biggest problem is that every time the GM logs on he probably has 100 pms, 100 emails, 100 reports, and all sorts. And 80% of it is complete nonsense people just moaning about stuff that they are unhappy about or making ridiculous demands, so those get ignored, then 19% is duplicate stuff that he's already answered before, and 1% is actual useful information or questions.

If he has an hour a day to spend on community engagement and has to spend the whole hour filtering all that nonsense, he won't have any time left to respond to the ones that actually deserve a response.

If the community self-regulates a bit better, uses the search function on the forum (it's actually really good with a bit of practice), write posts that are unbiased and contain all the required information to act on, request a simple clear outcome, and tag the posts properly, then GM will have a lot less garbage to deal with and he might actually have some time to respond properly.

It's a good thought really, I mean people can also use the Ask an Admin section but sometimes posting in the Suggestions and Bugs can get a discussion going. Some bugs can sometimes have differed opinions and it's nice to read healthy discussions as sometimes we can go all 'Todd Howard' and pretend it was intended the entire time. 😅
